The Office of the Associate Dean for Administration, Finance and Operations (ADAFO) provides leadership and management over JABSOM’s administrative functions, business services, and campus operations. JABSOM’s Associate Dean and Chief Financial Officer, Dr. Nancy Keonaonaokaniela Foster, leads the ADAFO office. Dr. Foster is JABSOM’s principal business officer, and serves as the school’s financial liaison to its community-based affiliated non-profit organizations, e.g., University Health Partners (aka UCERA), Hawaiʻi Pacific Health Medical Group, Queen's University Medical Group, and Hawaiʻi Residency Programs.
The ADAFO office is responsible for overseeing all school-wide financial and business operations, which includes the school’s functional areas of budget and reporting, contracting, fiscal and administration, human resources, facilities, information technology, ombuds, property and asset management, special events and food service management, emergency management, mail, courier, environmental health and safety, parking, staff development, and other employee wellness programs.
The UH Mānoa Kakaʻako campus serves as JABSOM's primary location, where by the ADAFO office maintains four on-campus buildings and facilitates four off-campus education and research leased sites. Its on-campus buildings include a medical education and administration building, a 24/7 research building, a central plant, and a translational research clinic. JABSOM’s various on-campus buildings uniquely house a café and a health science library (both open to the public), research-based biosafety level 3 and level 2 laboratories, an animal vivarium and a morgue. JABSOM’s ADAFO offices perform all development, environmental health and safety, facilities maintenance and repair, food service vendor management, grounds and housekeeping, network and telecommunications, space management, and parking functions independently of the UH Mānoa campus facilities, information services and operations personnel.
