The Center for Clinical Skills (CCS) supports the University of Hawai’i John A. Burns School of Medicine’s (JABSOM’s) mission to educate and train knowledgeable, competent and caring physicians by developing and implementing innovative educational experiences aimed at teaching and evaluating the bedside patient care skills of history taking, physical examination, interpersonal communication and counseling.
The CCS has a Standardized Patient Program where your participation in our program will assist them in ensuring proper training for our future physicians. CCS trains volunteers to act as ‘real’ patients in order to provide simulated experiences to enrich student learning and evaluation in a safe environment.

Faculty and staff of OME is composed of dedicated faculty and staff who design, administer, and evaluate key elements of the medical student curriculum. OME delivers faculty development both locally and internationally, supports faculty and student research in medical education, and coordinates a wide variety of community service initiatives that support promote health education in Hawaiʻi.
The Assessment & Curriculum Support Centers mission is to improve student learning through academic program assessment. Assessment is faculty-driven and faculty-supervised. It is a collaborative process that includes faculty, students, staff, administrators, and others. It involves establishing student learning outcomes, measuring/observing and documenting the extent to which outcomes are achieved, findings ways to improve, and implementing improvement plans.

CES is the official application for Course Evaluations at the University of Hawaii.It is a UH system wide tool to gather feedback from the students at the end of a course.
OFDAS provides opportunities for faculty members to participate in an array of instructional and curriculum development activities to improve teaching and learning on the Mānoa campus. All OFDAS activities and services are available to full-time tenure track, full-time non-tenure track, adjunct, and part-time faculty.
