We are keeping a close eye on the Flash Flood Warning/Watch advisories that were just released at 1:32pm. In the event a brown water advisory is issued by the City and County of Honolulu or the State of Hawaiʻi, the cremains scattering event will have to be cancelled to keep the students and paddling personnel safe. We will send out an email if the event is cancelled.
As initially intended, the highlights of the Cremains Scattering ceremony will be recorded, edited, and posted below once all videos/photos are collected.

The Willed Body Program would like to offer our heartfelt apologies for the cancellation of our Annual Willed Body Memorial Service on April 11th, 2026. Due to hazardous weather conditions, the difficult decision to cancel the event was made in the best interest of everyone involved.
While notifications were made to our website, voicemail, and social media, we were not able to reach everyone directly. Contact information is stored securely in our JABSOM office, and due to the emergency closure of our building, we were unable to access it.
The memorial service allows our students and staff to show gratitude and respect for the donor. Even during the COVID pandemic, we found ways to hold a memorial. This year, we will hold a virtual ceremony and share it with you when it is complete.
Plans for cremains scattering are underway, and when we have a date, we will post it on our website. If the alternate date is canceled due to brown water or weather conditions, a private scattering will be held. Videos will be taken in both cases and posted to our website.
If you would prefer to have the cremains returned to your family, the primary next-of-kin on file must send a written request by USPS mail. After we receive this letter, we will contact you to schedule a cremains pick-up appointment. Please know that we will support you through each step of this process and are committed to honoring your wishes with care and respect.
