The Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Society recognizes the top 10-15% of students from each graduating medical school class across the nation. They hold a number of events each year including mentorship activities, national guest speakers and service projects.

GHHS recognizes students, residents and faculty who model the humanistic qualities of integrity, excellence, compassion, altruism, respect, empathy and service. They also hold a number of service related projects throughout the year in an effort to promote humanism in medicine.
MSMP is a student-run organization that pairs current medical students at JABSOM with undergraduate students across the State of Hawaiʻi interested in pursuing a career in medicine. Through these pairings, MSMP helps to foster relationships between undergraduates and medical students and faculty. Over the years, they have paired more than 600 aspiring health care professionals with medical student mentors via an extensive matching process. The mentors and their charges contact each other regularly and participate in a variety of activities throughout the year.

The Research Interest Group was founded to promote medical student involvement in research at John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM). We strive to act a liaison between clinical faculty, researchers, and JABSOM students. To facilitate this process, we have developed a database of researchers that interested students may contact.
