We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Toni “TC” Vegas on April 22, 2026.
Her husband, Ben Vegas, wanted to let everyone know that TC was at home, surrounded by family and that they are at peace and glad that she is no longer in pain.
For 10 years, TC was a vital member of our Events team, helping Melia Young with a bright, cheery smile and an always-positive attitude. TC brought an extraordinary touch of warmth, grace, and brilliance to everything she did, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to work with her. Her boundless thoughtfulness, genuine kindness, infectious joy, endless creativity, and unwavering work ethic have inspired us all, transforming our events, uplifting our department, and bringing out the best in those around her.
TC didn’t shy away from sharing about her battle with breast and lung cancer. In fact, she took to the pages of
Midweek during a remission period in 2024, sharing heartfelt words of gratitude for her friends, her JABSOM ‘Ohana included. I encourage you to read the short
column because you’ll get a sense of just how special TC was.
In the
column, she thanks Ben, who fearlessly stood by her side through her battle. Ben is a renowned local musician who would often volunteer his talents at our events. TC’s favorite song was Ben’s cover of “Hotel California” by The Eagles. We wanted to share this
slideshow created in her honor by the JABSOM Media and Communications Team, set to Ben's live performance of the song.
She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all of us. Knowing her has made each of us better, and she has truly been a role model in embracing and appreciating every moment life has to offer. Details of TC’s services are forthcoming.
