JABSOM hosted its annual Biomedical Sciences Symposium as dozens of graduate students, post-docs, medical students and residents shared their research and had an opportunity to present their work.
For nearly three decades, the symposium allows early-stage investigators and students to get comfortable presenting their work in a public setting. Peers, research associates, and faculty made their way through the rows of posters, learning about the homegrown research conducted in Hawaiʻi.
For the first time, the symposium was held over two days. Graduate students and post-doctoral researchers shared their work last Friday, while medical students and residents presented their posters and oral presentations the following day.
“This symposium provides the opportunity for our next generation of basic and clinical scientists to present their research findings and interact with colleagues,” said Peter Hoffmann, PhD, MSPH. “This is an important part of their professional development as they build their biomedical careers.”
