The HMSA Center for Learning and Innovation aims to develop JABSOM as a center of excellence in health professions education and to promote discovery and innovation in this field.

The Creative Pedagogy Awards, a key component of the CLI's mission to enhance teaching, provide financial and consultative support for selected medical education innovation projects within the UH JABSOM system.

This year, the CLI is proud to have increased the Creative Pedagogy awards to three. These projects, chosen for their strong design, creativity, and long-term sustainability, will significantly benefit learners in the UH JABSOM system. The Office of Medical Education will provide each awarded team with up to $3,000 for their innovation projects.

The winners are:

"Integrating One Health Education into the JABSOM MD Curriculum"
Dr. Jourdan McMillan

"Developing a Reusable Uterine Model for Gynecology Simulations"
Dr. Paris Stowers and Dr. Shandhini Raidoo

"Cook With a Kauka - A Culinary Medicine Workshop Series for Health Professions Students"
Dr. Vanessa Wong and Dr. Monica Esquivel

Prior recipients of the Creative Pedagogy Award have already done incredible work, impacting many learners and disseminating their scholarly work within and beyond our walls and our islands. This award is just one of many initiatives by the HMSA Center for Learning Innovation (CLI) to enhance JABSOM's culture of excellence, innovation, and scholarship in medical education.
