The Hawaiʻi H.O.M.E. Project is once again sponsoring a school supply drive for the houseless keiki that we work with. This year we will be providing supplies for the kids at the Oneluaena and Onemalu Shelters in Kalaeloa, the Waianae Pai'olu Kaiaulu Shelter, the Waianae Boat Harbor encampment, the IHS Women's and Children's Shelter, Hale Imi Ola, and the Family Assessment Center. As you can imagine, there are many barriers to houseless children getting a good education and obtaining proper school supplies should not be one of them. We would like to make going back to school as easy as possible for our keiki!Please consider sponsoring a child (or more) for school supplies. If you are interested, go to: https://homeprojectgivingtree.com and you can select the child(ren) you would like to sponsor. You will have access to their school supply list when you select them. You would be responsible for getting all the things on the list for that child's grade level and we are also asking that you purchase a backpack that would be appropriate for the child. You can do this as an individual or a group of friends! The average cost for one child is $50-75 (but if you are a super shopper, you can definitely get it all for cheaper). You will need to return your donation by Wednesday, July 24 to the lobby of the medical school at 651 Ilalo Street (in Kakaʻako).
