JABSOM Huakaʻi Initiative

Connecting Youth Pathways for Inclusive Careers in Health

huakai.jpgOur vision is simple: To inspire youth to pursue careers in healthcare and science.

The JABSOM Huaka‘i Initiative seeks to increase the diversity within our healthcare workforce by making opportunities more inclusive for all youth to learn about careers in medicine and science.  Our goal is to connect educators and advisors mentoring youth with JABSOM faculty and community health partners.  These collaborative efforts will provide the guidance and encouragement that is needed for students to explore healthcare professions while gaining meaningful experiences as they navigate their huakaʻi (voyage) to fulfilling careers.
