The Freeman Scholars: JABSOM Loan Repayment program rewards committed JABSOM residents & fellows with a one-time $40,000 award applied to qualified medical school student loans. In an effort to address the physician shortage in Hawaiʻi , the awardee must agree to practice medicine in Hawaiʻi for two years following their training.

To apply, please submit your application and CV using this Google Form by July 16, 2026.
Program Directors will be expected to submit their letters of support to the ODIO via Crystal Costa, costaca@hawaii.edu by July 30, 2026.
