Dear Distinguished Alumni, Faculty, and Friends,
Each year, one new class begins their journey into the field of medicine at the John A.
Burns School of Medicine. Other classes continue their adventures in clerkships, fine-
tuning their clinical skills, and discovering which discipline in medicine they will practice.
Our yearbook, Kahuna, captures the experiences, memories, and challenges of these
early years of medical training. It chronicles the transformation from fresh and eager
students to compassionate and competent physicians.
Kahuna is incredibly fortunate to enjoy the support of many alumni, faculty, and friends
whose gifts have made publication possible. With the cost of publication totaling
thousands of dollars, it is only through the continued generosity of our supporters that
we are able to preserve these memories for our students and school community. If you
have donated in the past, we are deeply grateful for your support.
This year, we hope to continue building a meaningful, high-quality yearbook that reflects
the spirit, resilience, and joy of our JABSOM ʻohana. We are excited to create an edition
that our classmates, faculty, families, and future alumni can look back on for years to
come.

As a token of our sincere gratitude, we will include your name in the donor section of Kahuna.
For each donation of one hundred dollars or greater, you may choose to receive a
complimentary copy of the yearbook. Please note that a partial reduction in your tax
deduction will be made if you choose to receive a copy of the yearbook. If you prefer not
to receive a copy of Kahuna, the entire amount of the donation may be tax deductible.
