The devastation wrecked by the wildfires this week has been heartbreaking. Lives have been lost, homes have been destroyed, and livelihoods have been shattered. Many of us have friends and family on Maui and may know someone impacted by this tragedy. We extend our deepest and sincerest condolences to them.

As the scope of the disaster on Maui continues to be revealed, we know many are looking for ways to help. Below are direct links to external organizations that are accepting donations for disaster relief.

The Hawaii Community Foundation Maui Strong Fund will support Maui communities affected by recent fires, including response and recovery efforts. Donate to the Hawaii Community Foundation Maui Strong Fund here.

Maui United Way is also accepting donations on their website to provide funds to those who were affected. Donate directly to Maui United Way here

UH Maui College students and their families are directly impacted by the fires, whether they have lost homes, businesses, or jobs. As the new school year starts, you can help keep students, faculty, staff, and their families resilient during this unprecedented emergency. Donate to the UH Maui College Student Aid Fund here

As more opportunities to help arise, we will keep you updated. The tragedy on Maui will also take a toll on the mental health of residents and those volunteering in the relief efforts. JABSOM, Hawaiʻi State Rural Health Association, Hawaiʻi UTelehealth, and AHEC offer FREE telehealth services, including mental health counseling, evaluations, and medication. Computers and hot spots are provided if needed.
