Values to Verbs: Cultivating a Sense of Place

May 13, 12:30 PM - 01:30 PM
MEB 202

Mark your calendars- the next Values to Verbs session is on Wednesday, 5/13 at 12:30 pm! The Nurturing Belonging team invites all JABSOM faculty and staff to our second Values to Verbs Speaker Series presentation, where we discuss the values we care about and make them actionable. These in-person workshops will be hands-on, so that you can cement your learning and weave it into your work and daily life.

In this session, we will discuss the mo‘okū‘auhau (genealogy) of JABSOM and how it impacts us today. Learn the JABSOM oli and familiarize yourself with our JABSOM sense of place. We’ll visit the māla and learn about interesting features of our ‘āina. These workshops are more commonly led for students than for faculty and staff. Our goal is to build a shared language for everyone related to JABSOM, a shared sense of connection, and a shared kuleana to make JABSOM a Native Hawaiian Place of Learning.

We look forward to welcoming you to this event. Registration and more information are available HERE and you may reach our team via email at jabsomnb@hawaii.edu.
