Carla Nip-Sakamoto, MD

Dr. Carla Nip-Sakamoto is a board-certified dermatologist and a proud graduate of the John A. Burns School of Medicine. She completed her residency training at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). She has over 20 years of experience in medical, surgical, and aesthetic dermatology and has special interest in skin cancer prevention/treatment, psoriasis, eczema, and photoaging.

Dr. Nip-Sakamoto is very committed to community service and professional activities. She is the current President of the American Cancer Society (Hawai‘i Pacific region), a Past President of the Hawai‘i Dermatological Society, and an Assistant Clinical Professor at JABSOM. She serves on the Hawai‘i Medical Service Association (HMSA) Board of Directors and has been a volunteer member of other non-profit community boards.

As Co-Chair for JABSOM's 50th Anniversary Celebration, Carla would like to encourage all of you to support and attend the Gala event happening on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Sheraton Waikiki. Net proceeds will support medical student scholarships, assisting many of our students with the escalating expense of attending medical school. (For details contact Elaine Evans at elaine.evans@uhfoundation.org.)

Dr. Nip-Sakamoto enjoys family time with husband Rick and two sons, Reid and Riley. In her spare moments, she is reading, baking and playing "fetch" with Kona, her pet papillon.
