John Drouilhet, MD

Dr. John Drouilhet was born and raised in Texas. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas, his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and his ophthalmology and viteroretinal surgical training at the University of Texas at Houston. Dr. Drouilhet is a specialist in the field of ophthalmology called vitreoretinal surgery. (Ophthalmologists are physicians who have completed medical school, internship and a residency in ophthalmology. Vitreoretinal surgeons study for one or more additional years to gain knowledge and expertise in the treatment of diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous). He has participated in numerous clinical trials on retinal diseases and has been recognized with the American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award.

Dr. Drouilhet is Board Certified in Ophthalmology. He is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery, John A. Burns School of Medicine, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of American Medical Association, Hawai‘i Medical Association, Honolulu County Medical Society, Hawai‘i Ophthalmological Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Retina Specialists.
