Philanthropy is a vital source of support to advance the mission of the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) in Hawaiʻi and the Pacific.

Our development team is affiliated with The UH Foundation (UHF), a private, non-profit, University of Hawaiʻi related corporation that serves as the central fundraising organization for the entire UH System, including JABSOM. UHF partners closely with the University to raise funds, distribute those funds to UH programs according to donors’ designations, manage endowments, and connect alumni and friends to the University.

Julie Inouye is the Director of Development at the John A. Burns School of Medicine. Julie is a graduate of Mid-Pacific Institute and the Shidler College of Business at UH Manoa. Prior to joining the UH Foundation, Julie worked for 16 years as a Certified Financial Planner at First Hawaiian Bank.

Aaron Mandich is the Associate Director of Development at the John A. Burns School of Medicine. Aaron received his MBA from the Shidler College of Business at UH Manoa. Prior to joining the UH Foundation, Aaron ran two successful startup ventures in Las Vegas, where he lived for the past three years. Before that, Aaron was the Director of Marketing for UH Athletics, where he focused on corporate sponsorships, marketing, branding, and advertising.
