UH Med Now

On Tuesday, August 16, JABSOM’s annual faculty recognition reception was held in person, for the first time in two years. Twelve faculty were honored — nine for their recent promotion and three more were honored for receiving a UH teaching or service award.

Faculty enjoyed the opportunity to meet with colleagues, mentors, and former instructors face to face. Dean Hedges, as well as the Associate Deans and department chairs beamed with pride as they shared words of congratulation, recognition, and appreciation for the many accomplishments and exemplary service that these faculty members contribute to the school and their field. As Dr. Ivica Zalud, Department Chair of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Women’s Health, remarked, “it is like watching one of my kids graduate!”

We wish them all much continued success in their academic and professional careers and thank them for being such a valued member of our JABSOM `ohana!
