A year later, on World AIDS Day 2016, the Hawaii Center for AIDS hosted a conference, “2016 Update: Hawaii to Zero,” with sessions explaining how Hawaii might realize its goal of “zero new cases of HIV” statewide. National and global perspectives were provided by noted scientists Dr. Douglas Nixon, of the George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Dr. Julie Dombrowski, University of Washington professor and Deputy Director for Clinical Services of the Public Health Seattle & King County HIV/STD Program.
