UH Mānoa research review underway; External Advisory Review Committee visits Kakaʻako campus

The University of Hawaii at Mānoa (UHM) research enterprise is undergoing an evaluation by an External Advisory Review Committee, headed by UHM Vice Chancellor for Research Michael Bruno. The review, requested by the UH Board of Regents, includes experts from outside the University in industry, education and government. Among them: representatives from the National Institutes of Health, Northwestern University, Mount Sinai Health System, Oceanit, the National Academy of Engineering, the Stevens Institute of Technology
 and technology systems consultant Fernando L. Fernandez.

As the advisory committee visited the Kakaʻako Health Sciences Campus on April 26, 2017, Dr. Mariana Gerschenson, John A. Burns School of Medicine Director of Research and Dr. Randall Holcombe, Director of the UH Cancer Center, described the process.
