Did you know that the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) has its own healthcare clinic, where we help train medical students? And where MDs continuing their specialty work under JABSOM supervision? Did you know that our Lau Ola Clinic also partners with UH Hilo’s Daniel K. Inouye School of Pharmacy to help give clinical setting opportunities to students?

Located at 677 Ala Moana Boulevard, Lau Ola Clinic is operated by the medical school’s faculty practice plan, University Clinical, Education and Research Associates (UCERA) doing business as University Health Partners of Hawaiʻi, and is affiliated with the medical school’s Department of Native Hawaiian Health as well.

UH Med Now Student Journalists Vina Cristobal (Chaminade 2015) and Amanda Shell (UH Mānoa 2015) produced our video, where you get to meet a future pharmacist and one of Hawaiʻiʻs newest physicians, who were both “in house” recently at Lau Ola Clinic.

Mahalo to UH Hilo pharmacy student Darian Oshiro and Dr. Ryder Onopa, (JABSOM 2014) an MD Resident in Internal Medicine.
