With hopes of “matching” to their dream graduate medical education programs, already on the minds of current fourth-year MD students as they begin their final year of medical school, one must wonder how our newest MD graduates chose what specialty they will be practicing. For some, personal life experiences heavily influenced their decision and so they knew exactly what kind of doctor they wanted to be before even stepping foot onto the University of Hawaiʻi John A. Burns School of Medicine (UH JABSOM). While others were unsure of what they wanted to pursue and took advantage of their clinical rotations to see which specialty best suited their personality.

In this video, below, hear from some of JABSOM’s newest physicians including Drs. Megan Araujo, Michael Brigoli, Matthew Lim, Michele Saruwatari, Jamie Takayesu, Jonathan Woo.
