Free Screening: “Concussion” starring Will Smith

The John A. Burns School of Medicine Pacific Disabilities Center, in conjunction with the State of Hawaiʻi, Department of Health, Neurotrauma Supports, is sponsoring a FREE showing of the movie Concussion starring Will Smith. There’s free popcorn, the chance to answer trivia questions and play PLINKO for fun prizes, and information about concussions, traumatic brain injuries, stroke, and spinal cord injuries.

Room to be determined

Emergency room nurses Bryce Yamamoto, BSN, and Sanders Sandoval, APRN, of the Queen’s Medical Center, will speak briefly about concussions and traumatic brain injuries before the movie and lead a short question-and-answer session after the movie. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. The pre-movie talk begins at 1:00 p.m. and the movie starts at 1:30 p.m. The talk and movie will take place in Kakaako at the John A. Burns School of Medicine, 651 Ilalo Street, Medical Education Building (room TBA). The building is fully accessible. Parking is on the street or in nearby lots. The nearest buses stop at the corner of Ala Moana Blvd. and Coral Street.
