Free 2018 Keiki Health Camp is April 14 in Kalihi

April 14th, 2018

11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

The John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) Healthy Keiki Camp will be held on Saturday, April 14 starting at 11:00 am at Linapuni Elementary School.

The camp is open to any elementary school child, our MD students are specifically hoping to inspire and engage the children who live in the nearby Kuhio Park Terrace complex.

The Keiki Health Camp is an annual event hosted by the medical school’s Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. It is a 100% student-driven endeavor.

The camp starts off with a free lunch for the kids and their parents. Then the students break into groups and rotate through different activity stations. Stations may include:

Dental Health (run by the UH School of Dental Hygiene)
Healthy Eating
Science arts and crafts

The goal is to get the keiki to start thinking more about being healthy and also to increase interest in and exposure to health careers.
