May 12, 2019: Convocation for the MD Class of 2019

The convocation ceremony for the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) at the University of Hawai’i is all about letting the new MDs celebrate with their families. It is characterized by meaningful tributes by the new MDs to those who inspired and sustained them during their long educational journey. The graduating MDs publicly present that “special person” in their lives a maile lei on stage.  Admittance is by ticket. Each new graduate has a certain number of guests they may invite.  Doors open at 9:00 am and close promptly at 9:30 am.  Keynote address by Governor David Ige.  Please call Melia Young at 692-1208 if you need extra time to get seated and/or handicapped seats.
