Learning Clinical Workshop

Generally held in March, this weeklong workshop gives international medical students an exciting opportunity to learn about American-style clinical reasoning and doctor-patient communication techniques. This intensive, hands-on workshop will introduce students to teaching methods used to train students in clinical reasoning: the ability to gather information about a patient and determine the patient’s diagnosis. Teaching methods will include interviews with simulated patients, small group clinical reasoning exercises and case discussion, physical examination skills, communication skills training sessions and more.

Summer Medical Education Institute

Generally held in August, this weeklong workshop gives international medical students the opportunity to learn about American medical education. Teaching methods include highly interactive problem-based learning, communication practice, a simulated patient encounter and more.

In addition to the structured learning program, there will also be opportunities to interact with American medical students and faculty in a relaxed learning environment. Participants will experience clinical reasoning and communication skills through state-of-the-art learning techniques and methods.
