Interim Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs

 

Dr. Patricia Blanchette, MD, MPH, is the Interim Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Professor Emeritus at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UHM) John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM). She is responsible for the strategic planning and development of clinical departments at JABSOM.

 
 

Dr. Blanchette graduated with degrees from Leeward Community College and earned concurrent degrees from UHM, in Medicine (JABSOM MD 1979) and a Master’s in Public Health (Gerontology). Recognized as a Distinguished Alumna of UHM, Dr. Blanchette performed her residency training in Internal Medicine at Harvard University and obtained a Fellowship in Gerontology from Harvard University. In 1994, she returned to UHM and founded a Department of Geriatric Medicine at JABSOM. She led the department and served as professor until 2012, when she became Chief Executive Officer to University Health Partners of Hawai’i, the JABSOM faculty practice plan. In addition, Dr. Blanchette served as Interim Director for Administration (2014-2016) at the UHM Cancer Center.
