The Asia-Pacific institute of Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases collects data to develop early-warning systems for epidemic transmission of infectious diseases in the Asia-Pacific region by using the latest diagnostic, epidemiologic and information technology.

Biostatistics & Data Management Core
The Biostatistics & Data Management Core (BDMC) provides comprehensive research design, statistical analysis and data management services and training to basic science, clinical and translational researchers at JABSOM and its affiliated institutes.

Center for Clinical Skills
The Center for Clinical Skills (CCS) supports the School of Medicine's mission to educate and train knowledgeable, competent and caring physicians by developing and implementing innovative educational experiences aimed at teaching and evaluating the bedside patient care skills of history taking, physical examination, interpersonal communication and counseling.

Environmental Health and Safety Office - JABSOM
The Environmental Health and Safety Office - JABSOM is responsible for Fire Safety, Lab Safety, Biological Safety, Radiation Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Hazardous Materials Management, and Environmental Compliance at all UH School of Medicine locations.

Hawaii University Surgeons Group
The Hawaii University Surgeons group occupies Suite 501 of the new Physician’s Office Building (POB) III. Ten renown University of Hawaii affiliated surgeons have office, examination, procedure and meeting space within the 5000 square foot fifth floor facility.

Health Sciences Library
The new Health Sciences Library, which opened in the Spring of 2005, serves as an information resource not only for the John A. Burns School of Medicine, but also for the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus, the UH system, and the State. Emphasis is on Web-accessible materials, and collections include a wide variety of print and electronic resources, primarily in the clinical sciences.

Histology & Imaging Core Facility
The Histology & Imaging Core at Kaka’ako is supported by a generous grant from the Research Centers in Minority Institutions, and by the Center for Cardiovascular Research and the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology. It provides routine histology processing, specialized histochemical and immunohistological techniques, and access to several microscopic platforms. The core also provides technical assistance, training, and consultation in histological and imaging techniques to investigators throughout the University on a cost-recovery basis.

Hawaii H.O.M.E. Project is a John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) student-run free clinic staffed by volunteers.

Kulia Grill
Kulia Grill is open to the public (Monday - Friday) for breakfast and lunch. The Grill is operated by the Kapiolani Community College Culinary Institute of the Pacific.

Neuroscience and Magnetic Resonance Research Program
Researchers in the Neuroscience and Magnetic Resonance Research Program are using a research dedicated 3-Tesla scanner to study the Brain and Brain Diseases. Specifically, the research team looks at how drug abuse affects the chemistry, physiology and functions of the brain. The Program aims to bring together scientists interested in finding interdisciplinary solutions in neuroscience and associated fields.

Office of Medical Education
OME oversees the JABSOM curriculum for the school. The Program for Medical Education in East Asia sponsors opportunities for faculty and students from Asian medical schools to learn about medical education in Hawaii and the US.

Pacific Bioscience Research Center
The Pacific Biosciences Research Center (formerly known as the Pacific Biomedical Research Center) is one of the most successful research institutes in the University of Hawaii system. Its mission is to encourage and foster research in diverse fields of biology. The pursuit of this goal is facilitated by a flexible organizational structure that is responsive to federal, state and university initiatives.

The Pacific Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases Research is part of a larger vision to establish research excellence in tropical medicine and infectious diseases.

The Pacific Research Center for Marine Biomedicine (PRCMB) conducts trans-disciplinary research to gain new knowledge about the profound impacts of the ocean on human health.

UCERA is a nonprofit organization established to further the mission and vision of the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii (JABSOM). The mission of the Cancer Research Center of Hawai'i is to reduce the burden of cancer through research, education, and service with an emphasis on the unique ethnic, cultural, and environmental characteristics of Hawai'i and the Pacific.

University of Hawaii at Manoa
The largest and oldest UH campus is located in a residential valley above Waikiki. Manoa offers undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees; a strong, vital research program; and nationally ranked NCAA Division I athletics.

Willed Body Donation Program
The Willed Body Program was established at JABSOM in 1967 to provide an opportunity for concerned community members to donate their bodies after death for use in medical science and education. Donated bodies are used primarily in the education of medical students and physicians while a few others may be used for various types of research such as the development of new and specific surgical procedures. Upon request, legal forms authorizing this selfless and caring gift are sent to the potential donor. A donor card is then provided once the bequeathal forms are received and processed.

Castle Medical Center
At 160 beds, Castle is the primary health care facility for the windward side of the island of O'ahu. It is a member of a Seventh-day Adventist health care system, Adventist Care, and is newly-affiliated with JABSOM.

Hawaii State Hospital
Hawai'i State Hospital is Hawai'i's public hospital dedicated to serving adults with serious mental illnesses and serves as an integral part of the continuum of mental health care statewide. At 168 beds, it is the largest inpatient facility dedicated solely to mental health services, and is a major training site for JABSOM's Department of Psychiatry.

Hilo Medical Center
With 264 beds, 130 of them designated acute care, Hilo Medical Center (HMC) is the largest facility in the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation and on the island of Hawai'i, and provides a full range of health care services to the community.

Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center & Clinic
Kaiser Foundation Hospital is a component of Kaiser Permanente, the nation’s largest nonprofit, group-practice health plan and utilizes a team approach to providing high-quality care and service. Its medical center on Oahu is presently in expansion, from 250 to 318 beds.

Kalihi-Palama Health Center
The Kalihi-Palama Health Center provides preventive and primary outpatient health care in a respectful, caring and culturally sensitive environment.

Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children
Kapi'olani Medical Center is the largest hospital in Hawai'i specializing in maternity and infant care, and is the only Level III tertiary medical facility of its type in the Pacific Basin. It is a training center for Departments of Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Obsetrics-Gynecology.

Kapiolani Medical Center at Pali Momi
Kapi'olani Medical Center at Pali Momi, an acute care facility of 116 beds in Oahu's Leeward area, provides care principally for the area's adult population. As a component of Hawai'i Pacific Health Corporation, it collaborates with Straub Clinics and Hospital and the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children.

Kokua Kalihi Valley Health Center
Kokua Kalihi Valley has a staff of 80 who speak 17 different languages and specializes in offering integrated outpatient services from five locations, three in public housing.

Kuakini Medical Center
Kuakini Medical Center is a general 250-bed multi-service hospital founded in 1900 by the Japanese community, with special focus on care of the elderly.

Le'ahi Hospital
In addition to tuberculosis services and long-term care inpatient services, Le'ahi Hospital operates an Adult Day Health Center and the Le'ahi Geriatric Outpatient Clinic. It is a component of the Hawai'i Health Systems Corporation.

Maui Memorial Medical Center
Founded in 1884 and now a 231-bed facility, Maui Memorial Medical Center provides comprehensive medical care to both urban and rural communities of the island of Maui. It serves as a training site for medical students in the 6L program, as well as those on electives.

Queen Emma Clinics
The Queen Emma Clinics are an affiliate of The Queen's Medical Center. They strive to provide the highest quality health care and are committed to the education of its health care professionals, including physicians, nurses, and social workers. It is a major training site for residents in the training programs of the Departments of Medicine, Orthopedics, and Surgery.

Queen's Medical Center
At 533 beds, of which 505 are acute, The Queen’s Medical Center is the largest private hospital in Hawai‘i and the leading medical referral center in the Pacific Basin. It was founded in 1859 by Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV, it is the main trauma center in the Pacific Basin and serves as host to clinical departments including Medicine, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, and Surgery.

Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific
Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific is the only hospital-based acute care medical rehabilitation organization serving both Hawai‘i and the Pacific Region, with 100 beds.

Shriners Hospital for Children
The Honolulu Shriners Hospital is a 40-bed pediatric hospital at the base of Manoa Valley, providing comprehensive orthopaedic care to children at no charge. It is presently undergoing a major building project.

Spark M. Matsunaga Veterans Affairs Medical Center
As the Honolulu campus of the Veterans Affairs Pacific Islands Health Care System, the Spark M. Matsunaga VA Medical Center (VAMC) and its array of clinics in the Hawaiian Islands, Guam, and American Samoa, provide veterans with easy access to health care. It is affiliated for provision of inpatient services with the adjacent Tripler Army Medical Center.

Straub Clinic and Hospital, Inc.
Founded in 1921, Straub is a 159-bed group practice multi-specialty hospital, a participant in Hawaii Pacific Health corporation. It houses the sole burn center in Hawai'i.

The Physician Center at Mililani
The Physician Center at Mililani, a satellite clinic of Wahiawa General Hospital, is a group of family physicians and the principal outpatient training site for residents in the Department of Family Practice and Community Health.

Tripler Army Medical Center
Tripler Army Medical Center is the largest joint services military treatment facility in the Pacific Basin, and shares a campus with the Spark M. Matsunaga Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The bed capacity varies according to need; in peacetime, its occupancy is approximately 160.

Wahiawa General Hospital
Wahiawa General Hospital is a nonprofit, 162-bed facility committed to providing personalized care to Central O‘ahu and North Shore residents. It is the principal inpatient training site for the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health.
