Biomedical Sciences

Introduction | Courses

Interdisciplinary medical education and graduate and undergraduate courses offered by the School of Medicine have been given BIOM numbers. These courses may, for example, provide more closely coordinated approaches to the teaching of complex structure function relationships that has previously been possible or draw upon a wide range of faculty expertise to provide new course offerings.

Additionally, most MS and PhD degrees offered through School of Medicine programs are granted as degrees in biomedical sciences with appropriate parenthetic descriptors. Thus, PhD degrees in cell and molecular biology, physiology or tropical medicine are granted, for example, as biomedical sciences (physiology).
