Introduction
The Office of Hospital and External Business Affairs serves as the contracting and administrative agent for
the John A. Burns School of Medicine, in support of the clinical education programs. We are the administrative
liaison with the various hospitals, health care facilities, and other business associates of JABSOM, including
the University Clinical, Education & Research Associations (UCERA). We aim to provide support to our clinical
departments and faculty in order to further JABSOM’s mission of creating the health care professionals and
leaders of tomorrow.
Our areas of focus include: 1) developing JABSOM and UCERA’s malpractice and risk management program; and 2)
developing agreements with educational and health care partners in order to establish affiliated teaching sites,
share space and resources, and develop faculty support.
