The Office of Public Health Studies invites you to attend a special colloquium by Dr. Danielle Ompad, (candidate for a faculty position in epidemiology), Associate Director and Epidemiologist, New York Academy of Medicine, Center for Urban Epidemiologic Studies:
The presentation will be Monday, October 5, 2009 from 4:30-5:39 pm in the Biomedical Sciences Building, Room D207.

The Society of Craniofacial Genetics (SCG), a chapter of the American Society of Human Genetics, will hold a meeting at JABSOM on Oct. 20. The SCG Keynote Speaker (and JABSOM 2009 Thomas J. Whelan, Jr., MD, Endowed Lecturer) is Dr. Paul Trainor from Stower's Institute in Kansas City. He will present: "Making Faces: Advances in our Understanding of the Role of Neural Crest Cells in Craniofacial Development, Disease and Repair". Dr. Trainor is an international expert in the area of facial development and will discuss the role of neural crest in diseases such as Treacher Collins syndrome.
